Jennifer L. Townsend, MS, LPC, NCC
Jennifer incorporates a holistic approach while also relying on various evidence-based practices to best meet each individual’s needs. She is dedicated to providing a therapeutic experience that is based on being authentic, “down-to-earth”, non-judgmental, and empathetic. She strives to provide a nurturing path for change and healing.
Jennifer’s theoretical orientation is Person Centered which encourages a genuine therapeutic bond and meets the individual where they are presently. She has also received level-two training for Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Jennifer has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced sexual trauma, depression, PTSD, family issues, anxiety, and more. Previously, she has co-lead groups for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Problematic Sexual Behavior for children and adolescents.
In addition to being a therapist, Jennifer has presented research in NYC on the self and sexual communication and continues to stay up-to-date with intimate relationship and sex research.
