FAQs

Do you prescribe psychotropic medication?
Psychotherapists do not prescribe medication. Depending on the patient or diagnosis, medication may be needed and often can assist in the therapeutic process. As a therapist I am able to refer patients to appropriate professionals for this assistance. However, it is well established that the long-term solution to mental and emotional problems and the pain they cause cannot be solved solely by medication. Instead of just treating the symptom, therapy addresses the cause of the distress and the behavior patterns that curb your progress. You can best achieve the sustaining results and emotional stability with an integrative approach to wellness, meaning psychotherapy AND medication monitoring, if needed.
